Federal law prohibits selling a recalled product. Checking by hand means searching thousands of notices, every time something comes through the door — and then doing it again when a recall lands next month on something you took in last spring.

What it does

  • Takes the stock list you already keep — your spreadsheet, your column names.
  • Checks every item against the recalls we monitor, and tells you which to pull.
  • Re-checks everything still on the floor twice a day, so a recall published in June finds the item you took in back in March.
  • Records what was checked, against how many recalls, and when — so you can show somebody that you checked.

The Recall Registry is not a government service and cannot certify that anything is safe. A clear result means nothing was found, which is not the same thing.
