Consumers should stop using the recalled tractors immediately and contact Sears for a free inspection at your home and, if necessary, a free repair of the parking brake cable. Sears is directly contacting consumers who purchased this product.

The recalled Craftsman power lawn tractor is gray colored, has 19.5 HP engine, automatic drive, and a 42 inch cutting deck. The following model and serial numbers are included in the recall. The model and serial numbers are located on a model plate under the tractor's seat. Models Craftsman 917.289080 Craftsman 917.289081 Serial Numbers 012709A001000 through 031209D999999
Sears and Kmart stores nationwide and on the Web at www.sears.com from January 2009 through April 2009 for about $1,200.
